Lisa Rabasca Roepe is a Washington, D.C.-based freelance journalist who writes about gender equity, diversity and inclusion, the culture of work, and personal finance. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Fast Company, Wired, Insider, the Boston Globe, the Christian Science Monitor, Marketplace, Ms. Magazine, The Muse and HR Magazine. Her twitter handle is @lisarab.
Merlisa Lawrence Corbett covers sports, interior design, business and human-interest stories. A former reporter for Sports Illustrated and tennis columnist for Bleacher Report, she has also had her work appear in Essence and Black Enterprise. She is the author of the biography “Serena Williams: Tennis Champion, Sports Legend and Cultural Heroine.”
Karen Blum, a member of ASJA’s Virtual Education Committee, is a freelance medical/science writer in the Baltimore area. She has written for publications such as Pharmacy Practice News, Kidney News, the Baltimore Sun, Cancer Today, CURE, AARP.org, General Surgery News and Infectious Disease Special Edition; covered numerous medical conferences for trade magazines and news services; and written many profiles and articles about medical research, physicians and allied health professionals, and trends in health care for a variety of publications including for universities and medical associations.
