Ghostwriting is getting long-overdue recognition, including its own prize: the Andy Awards, the only recognition for excellence in nonfiction book collaboration. In this one-hour webinar, 2025 Andy Award winner Jon Land and 2024 finalist and ASJA member Holly Gleason will detail how their award-winning books came about, how they collaborate with authors, and practices that set them up for success in all their ghostwriting work. They’ll be joined by Gotham Ghostwriters President Alison Schwartz, who can share details about the 2027 Andy Awards entry process and submission deadline. The session will be moderated by Michelle Rafter, business ghostwriter and ASJA publications chair, board member, and Andy Awards liaison.

The Andy Awards are cosponsored by ASJA and Gotham Ghostwriters, and submissions for the 2027 award are open through June 30. Andy Awards are given in 4 categories: business and thought leadership; memoir; prescriptive nonfiction; and narrative nonfiction. To be eligible for the 2027 awards, books must be published between Jan. 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Both the ghostwriter and author must agree to jointly submit a work for consideration.
