Mary Ellen Collins is a freelance writer who balances her time between working for clients and writing (mostly humorous) personal essays. She writes regularly for CONNECT, the member magazine for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums; and her client portfolio has included regional magazines as well as colleges, independent schools, small businesses and other trade and professional associations. She was a monthly community columnist for The Arizona Republic; and wrote a syndicated humor column, “The Homefront,” for Angie’s List Magazine. Her essays have appeared in Notre Dame Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, Writer’s Digest, The Writer,The Tampa Bay Times, Outdoor Life, Epoch Times, SASEE Magazine, Next Avenue, and on the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workship blog.
