Jenny Blair

Jenny Blair is a journalist, science writer, and editor who’s particularly interested in nature, agriculture and agroforestry, medicine, and disabled communities. Her work has appeared in mainstream magazines like New Scientist and Discover, independent newspapers including the Austin Monitor and the Montpelier Bridge, and sites aimed at professionals, including Medscape, Medtech Insight, and WebMD. She holds degrees in geology and medicine from Yale University as well as a master’s in agroforestry at the University of Missouri. 

Formerly, Jenny was an emergency physician. She trained at the University of Chicago, where she earned teaching and humanitarian awards. She cared for patients in Chicago, the Northeast, and Haiti; she also led medical student workshops in Vermont and taught physicians in Indonesia. Since 2020, Jenny has led medical humanities workshops at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences Center.

Jenny’s other interests include sequential art (comics!) and human languages. She does not use AI as a writing or editing tool.
