Janice Lynch Schuster is an essayist, fiction writer, poet, and visual artist whose work has appeared in outlets such as The Sun Magazine, Poet Lore, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Persimmon Tree Journal, and Months to Years. Her visual art is in many collections and has also appeared in various publications. She has worked for think tanks, management consulting firms, academic organizations, and more. She specializes in writing about frail elders, family caregivers, pain management, and disaster management. Her books include Handbook for Mortals: Guidance for Living with Serious Illness.  She lives and works near Annapolis, MD.
