Elizabeth Howard

A former newspaper reporter, I taught journalism courses in the English Deparrment at the University of Virginia for eight years. I freelanced for numerous print publications on the topics of health, women. families. and aging. The publications ranged from Ms. and The Ladies Home Journal to The Washington Post and Virginia Living. I am currently the art editor for Streetlight Magazine online. My book, “Aging Famously:Follow Those You Admire to Living Long and Well” won the 2019 International Book Awards for health texts for people 50+. I have also produced short documentaries on remarkable older women which have aired on Virginia PBS.

Aging Famously is a non fiction book of profiles of prominent older people who share their experience on aging well. Among those interviewed were tv broadcaster Walter Cronkite, photographer Gordon Parks and civil rights leader Rosa Parks.
