Lori Miller Kase

Lori Miller Kase is a journalist, short story writer, essayist and young adult author. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Vogue and Literary Mama, among other publications. She studied creative writing at Brown University and at Wesleyan University, where she earned a Master’s degree, and has taught it to elementary, middle school and high school students. Lori has received several awards for Excellence in Journalism from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists and The Letter Review Prize for Short Fiction. Her debut novel, The Accident, published by Woodhall Press on October 14, 2025, was the 2024 YA finalist for The Tassy Walden Awards for New Voices in Children’s Literature. 

As a journalist, Lori has specilaized in health, and writes frequently about the arts. She also loves to write about books and writing. Her short stories and creative nonfiction pieces have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies; one of her stories was just published in The 2025 Connecticut Literary Anthology on November 4, 2025.
