ASJA Members Get Extra Early Bird Rates for The Freelancers’ Blueprint — Navigating a Shifting Landscape
Details Announced for Keynote Speakers, Client Connections, Scholarships, More
Registration for the 2026 ASJA conference, The Freelancers’ Blueprint — Navigating a Shifting Landscape, to be held April 20-22, will open for ASJA members only on Dec. 1.
Once again this year, ASJA is offering an extra early bird conference registration rate that’s available only to members. It makes now a great time to join or renew your membership.
Since ASJA reduced annual membership fees recently, independent writers can join or renew at the professional membership level and buy an extra early bird ticket to the conference and still pay less than what a nonmember would pay for the regular conference registration fee alone!

2026 Conference Registration Fees
The 2026 ASJA conference takes place virtually. Fees are as follows:
- Extra Early Bird rate, available Dec. 1 to 15: $199 for ASJA members only
- Early Bird rate, available Dec. 16 to Feb. 15: $259 for members, and $329 for nonmembers
- Regular rate, available Feb. 16 to April 5: $309 for members, and $379 for nonmembers
- Late registration, available after April 6: $329 for members, and $399 for nonmembers
- Client Connections: $79 bundled with 2026 conference registration, $139 Client Connections only
Members at all levels–including professional, associate or retired–must renew their membership for 2026 in order to be eligible for the extra early bird, early bird, or any other ASJA member rate.
2026 Conference Keynote Speakers and Client Connections 2026
All conference registrants can attend keynote talks, tune into a dozen informative sessions each in three tracks—books, content marketing writing, and journalism—and access session recordings for a limited time, plus take advantage of opportunities for informal networking.
We are pleased to announce the three 2026 conference keynote speakers:
- Jayde Powell, social media strategist and founder of The Em Dash Co.
- Ilyce Glink, journalist, nationally-syndicated columnist, radio host, entrepreneur, and author of more than a dozen books on personal finance and real estate.
- Tina Roth Eisenberg, founder and CEO of Creative Mornings breakfast lecture series and design salon for creatives
ASJA professional members can add on ASJA’s signature client networking event, Client Connections, to be held April 23-24. Pricing for Client Connections is $79 when bundled with the conference or standalone for $139.
Conference to Be Held on Airmeet Platform
The 2026 conference will take place on the Airmeet online conference platform. Attendees of ASJA’s 2024 conference largely found Airmeet convenient and easy to use, and the post- conference survey called it “fabulous” and “a wonderful addition.”
Closer to the conference dates, ASJA will offer training for those unfamiliar with how Airmeet works or who need a refresher.
As we did for the 2024 ASJA conference, we will provide virtual “tables” where attendees can congregate to continue discussions about sessions they attended, start new conversations, or network virtually—yet still face-to-face—with new friends and clients.
As in the past, ASJA will offer scholarships that cover the full conference registration fee to freelancers and students from historically marginalized groups. Information about scholarship eligibility, applications, and deadlines is coming soon.
