Rochelle Melander

Rochelle Melander is a speaker, professional certified coach and the author of 11 books for adults, including Write-A-Thon: Write Your Book in 26 Days (and Live to Tell About It) and Level Up: Quests to Master Mindset, Overcome Procrastination and Increase Productivity. Rochelle’s debut book for children,Mightier Than the Sword: Rebels, Reformers, And Revolutionaries Who Changed the World Through Writing (Beaming Books, 2021), won the 2021 Cybils Award for Middle Grade Nonfiction and the Council for Wisconsin Writers Tofte/Wright Children’s Literary Award. 

Rochelle Melander grew up in a small Midwestern town where she collected rocks, performed in college theater productions, and took fairies on elaborate adventures. She wrote her first book at seven, the same year she won the summer reading program at her library.

She’s the founder of Dream Keepers, a writing workshop that encourages young people to write about their lives and dreams for their future. She’s taught writing to children and adults at schools, universities, libraries, art museums, botanical gardens, churches, synagogues, corporate events, and art studios.
