Katie Grant is a former actress and was always a closet writer until a co-worker called her the “copy queen” and the rest is history. When Katie became a mom—after 5 years of battling infertility—it gave her writing extra purpose to bring visibility to essential kids’ brands, mompreneurs, and parenting influencers that help make parenting easier.
Katie writes copy and articles that emotionally connect Mother and Baby-Care brands with their customers to bring greater awareness, bolster their messages, and boost sales.
She’s a 2024 SoCal Journalism Award Winner, freelance writer, motherhood copywriter, entertainment journalist, and parenting ghostwriter with a degree in storytelling from The Colorado College. Her time as an actor gives her an unfair advantage of stepping inside your brand’s shoes and writing flawlessly in that specific voice for an audience she is a proud, hard-earned member of—parents.
As a journalist, Katie’s work can be seen in Huffington Post, Parents.com, Emmy and Produced By magazines including interviews with Emmy-Award Winner Bill Hader (SNL, Barry) and Best-Selling Author Jen Sincero (You Are a Badass). She also writes for The Colorado College Bulletin covering topics from climate change to the arts to sports.
She’s been a Top Writer in Parenting on Medium where her reported stories and personal essays are featured on digital platforms including Modern Parent, A Parent is Born, and The Good Men Project. She has 14+ years of copywriting experience with female-centered start-ups—providing taglines, web copy, and new business names. So, she does double duty as a published journalist who also understands keyword SEO. She also studied biz dev and nearly created a unicorn business but gave up too soon.
Her greatest strength is Awe: appreciation of beauty and excellence. Her weakness is anything chocolate and banana flavored. Among her friends, she’s known as “DJ Jazzy Katie” – her own wedding playlist kept the dance floor full all night long. When she’s not writing or playing with her first grader, she loves alternative baking & slow flow/yin yoga.
