Esther Landhuis

I’m a freelance science and health journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area. My stories have appeared in Scientific American, Undark, Nature, JAMA, Medscape, Science News, Quanta, NPR and other outlets. I launched my journalism career in 2003 by way of the UC Santa Cruz science communication program and, prior to that, earned a BS in biological sciences from Stanford University and a PhD in immunology from Harvard University.
