Use the Relaunched ASJA Bookstore on Bookshop.org to Buy Books and Promote Your Own
The site pays a 10% commission on every book purchased through the ASJA Bookstore page.
ASJA offers members many perks, including professional tools, networking events, and discounts. A perk we are reintroducing is the ASJA Bookstore on Bookshop.org. The ASJA Bookstore is a compilation of books written by ASJA members, winners of ASJA Awards, conference speakers, and presenters at ASJA webinars.
The ASJA Bookstore benefits members in two ways. When you buy books on the ASJA Bookstore, Bookshop will pay a 10% commission to ASJA on each title–making it a painless way to support the organization that supports you. Commissions apply to any books you purchase through the ASJA Bookstore link, regardless of whether they are featured on the ASJA Bookstore page. And ASJA members who’ve written one or more books can advertise them on the ASJA Bookstore page at no extra cost to them. It’s a win-win!

What is the ASJA Bookstore at Bookshop.org?
The ASJA Bookstore at Bookshop.org organizes and lists books written by ASJA members, speakers and award winners. You can browse books by category, scope out 2026 and 2025 ASJA Award winners, see books that colleagues have written, add your own book to the list, and buy your next read.
How Does It Work?
Visit Bookshop.org and find the ASJA Bookstore by visiting this link. The books on display are sorted by category. Current categories include award winners, memoir/biography, cookbooks, self-help/service, general non-fiction, medical/science, travel, and fiction. In addition to benefiting ASJA, buying books through Bookshop.org benefits independent bookstores. Every six months, Bookshop.org pools the profits on sales of books through the ASJA Bookstore and splits them evenly among participating independent bookstores.
To add your book to the page, go to the ASJA Bookstore page on Bookshop.org, find “Submit Your Book,” and use the submission form link to provide the required details, including your name, email, book title, ISBN number, short description, and category.
Listing your book for sale on the ASJA Bookstore costs you nothing and doesn’t detract from your royalties. Member authors who list their books on the ASJA Bookstore will continue to accrue royalties per their contract with their publisher for any sales that are made through Bookshop.org
How Does it Benefit ASJA?
ASJA receives a 10% commission on the sale of every book on the site. Sharing books you’ve published on Bookshop.org is a great way to promote your own work. It’s also a great way to see what books fellow ASJA members have written and published all in one place.
How Do I Add My Book to the ASJA Bookstore at Bookshop.org?
Adding your book to the Bookshop.org site is quick and simple. Click this link and fill out the form with the required information, including your suggested book category, and ASJA will add it to the site for you. Please note: you must be logged into the ASJA Member Center to view the submission form.
Who Can Add Books to the Site?
ASJA members, award winners, conference speakers, and webinar presenters can add their books to the site. Former ASJA members who’ve let their membership lapse need to rejoin the organization to have their books listed in the ASJA Bookstore. Renew your membership here. Nonmember ASJA conference or webinar speakers who want to add their books to the site should contact ASJA at asjaoffice@asja.org.
Can I List Books I’ve Ghostwritten?
Yes, books ghostwritten by ASJA members can be added to the site if your contract with the author permits you to receive public recognition. Please check “Ghostwritten Books” on the submission form. If your contract prohibits this, please indicate this on the form, and we will shelve your book based on its subject matter.
Can I List My Book in Multiple Categories?
Yes, you can list your book in up to two categories. ASJA reserves the right to make the final category determination.
