ASJA members, please use the Member News form below to submit your news for publication in the ASJA Weekly newsletter and on ASJA social media platforms.

News suitable for submitting includes but is not limited to:

  1. The publication (or acquisition) of a book, article, e-book, study, whitepaper, etc. It doesn’t need to have a byline. ASJA will still give you flowers.
  2. Establishing professional relationships, like becoming a columnist, starting work with a new-to-you client, signing with a literary agent, or resuming work with a past client who came back. That last one can be especially heartening.
  3. Appearances, including book signings, podcast interviews, panel discussions, lectures, etc. You may submit for both recent-past and upcoming events, but only if there is no charge to participate.
  4. Awards you have won or been nominated for, kind words from clients, great reader feedback, or reviews of your book. Please limit compliments and accolades about a singular project to no more than two a month.
  5. Trainings, certifications, or similar courses of study you have completed (or are undertaking) to enhance your skills and business.
  6. Personal news and achievements: did you finally complete that decluttering project, learn to crochet, get a clean bill of health, do 100 days of yoga, get married, welcome a child or grandchild, successfully grow Brussels sprouts, take a once-in-a-lifetime trip, or win your city’s pie-making contest? If you feel amazing about it, share it.
  7. ASJA collaborations. This can include signing a new client from an ASJA referral, running into another member at a conference or social gathering, interviewing a fellow ASJA member for an article, etc. Pictures of ASJAers together in the wild are encouraged!

Member News submissions will be included in ASJA Weekly at the discretion of the ASJA Weekly editor, the Publications Chair, and the ASJA leadership.

ASJA Weekly is distributed Tuesday afternoons Eastern time. ASJA cannot guarantee that Member News submitted after Monday 12 p.m. ET will be included in that week’s newsletter.  When you submit Member News using the form below, it is sent directly to the Weekly editor.

Please follow these instructions carefully. If you don’t include a link to your work, one will not be included in the form. ASJA uses book links to Bookshop.org, which connects readers with independent bookstores.
