Charlotte Libov

Charlotte Libov is an award-winning health book author and journalist, whose work has appeared in many newspapers and magazines throughout the country. She was working as a freelance contributor to the New York Times when she was diagnosed with a hole in her heart in 1990.  Following successful open-heart surgery, she co-authored “The Woman’s Heart Book,” which was one of the first to focus on heart disease in women. The book was featured in the New York Times and became the basis for the PBS documentary “Women’s Hearts at Risk,” which Libov helped produce and upon which she appeared. The show won several awards and was nominated for a regional Emmy.

Libov became a popular speaker on women’s health issues, and traveled across the country, doing keynote talks on women’s health for hospitals, schools, organizations and businesses, including the American Heart Association, Duke University Medical School, Bio International, Toyota, and the U.S. Army War College, to name just a few. She was also profiled in major media across the county, including the Washington Post, National Public Radio, Morning Edition, the Jim Bohannon Show, and she appeared on Today in New York, Fox Morning News, the Gayle King Show, and Newsmax TV, among others.

She served as managing editor for Neurology Now, the consumer publication from the American Academy of Neurology.

Her experience  includings weekly restaurant reviews, travel writer, and writing aticles and columns for Examiner.com and AOL’s Best, among others.

She is communications director for the Sabrina Cohen Foundation, which works to increase opportunities for people with disabilities.

In addition to writing books, she is a photographer whose work has appeared in juried show, and she is a singer who recently debuted in her own cabaret show, “I Wrote the Book,” in New York City to laudatory reviews.
