As the nation's leading organization of freelance writers, ASJA takes positions on many aspects of writing and publishing.

The Authors Registry, Inc.
The Authors Registry is a non-profit organization launched May 19, 1995 to bring ASCAP-like services to publishing. Cooperating writers' organizations and agents represent more than 50,000 authors. The Registry provides the following services:
Authors Contact Directory - an extensive directory of authors, with contact addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses
Licensing Service - non-exclusive licensing of author-controlled rights, particularly electronic and photocopy rights
Automated Rights Payment System - collecting and distributing royalties for electronic and other uses of magazine articles
Organizational membership is not required to use the services of the Authors Registry. ASJA members automatically belong to the Authors Registry as part of their membership. For more information:
