Thompson, Ph.D. Barker has co-written 10 other books, four of them with Thompson, including The New York Times bestseller, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys. |
| A full-page color photograph of Sir Richard Branson taken by Margie Goldsmith graces the inside cover of Change the World at 35,000 Feet. The booklet, given out on Virgin Atlantic flights, suggests actions passengers can take to help save our planet. Goldsmith arrived on Necker Island to do a profile of Sir Richard, gave him a copy of Change the World for a Fiver, and shot of him reading the book in his hammock. Based on Goldsmith's visit, Sir Richard commissioned his own book by the same organization, We Are What We Do. |

His story about Islam and science, which appeared in Discover, was selected for Best American Science and Nature Writing 2008 (Houghton-Mifflin), and will appear later this year |
