In August, Stephen Regenold created a newspaper column called, "UltraFit," which covers fitness, adventure, the outdoors and the nexus where those pursuits collide, and runs weekly in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Regenold, who also writes the nationally-syndicated "The Gear Junkie" column, has begun syndicating "UltraFit" to newspapers around the country.

Sherry Beck Paprocki won two gold awards this fall from the Council for Advancement and Support for Education. Marietta Magazine won best in the Midwest division for college alumni magazines with enrollments under 3,000. Marietta College's magazine also won the Most Improved category. Paprocki led the magazine's editorial redesign


Linda Eve Diamond's new book, Rule #1: Stop Talking! A Guide to Listening (Listeners Press, 2007) was just released
Anne Hart's 85th book is titled 101+ Practical Ways to Raise Funds: A Step-by-Step Writer's Guide with Answers (ASJA Press)
Stefan Bechtel is co-authoring a book about tornadoes called Tornado Hunter: Getting Inside The World's Most Violent Storms, for National Geographic books. The book, Stefan's eighth, is slated for publication in March 2009
Robin Gorman Newman, author of How to Marry a Mensch, has launched a blog called "Relationship Rap with Robin," featured on www.lovecoach.com
Nancy Peske has signed an agreement with Women's Entertainment for an extension of the TV license to Cinematherapy. The book has been a television show on WE (formerly Romance Classics) since 2000
Jean Fain's new hypnosis CD, Mindful Eating Mini Trances, is now available at CDbaby.com
An article on electronic medical records by Beryl Lieff Benderly won the Gold Award for best feature article in the 2007 Magnum Opus competition run by the University of Missouri and Publications Management magazine
Last year, Carol Weston was invited to give a talk called, "Finding Your Voice" at the University of Zaragoza in Spain. She also spoke to students in Alaska, at Yale and in the Bronx
Susan Shapiro Barash's tenth nonfiction women's issue book, Little White Lies, Deep Dark Secrets: The Truth about Why Women Lie, will be published by St. Martins on March 6. Barash, who teaches in special programs at Sarah Lawrence, interviewed 500 women to learn the reasons behind female deception
Herbert Hadad was honored by the Hudson Valley (NY) Writers' Center at its 2007 Autumn Celebration, held at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, NY, for his almost 20 years of teaching. He was also presented with a Congressional Proclamation signed by Rep. Nita M. Lowey for his service
Former Bon Appetit editor Sarah Belk King has been added to the masthead of Big Sky Journal. King is a Montana-based freelance writer, author and editor and will be covering the Journal's regular feature, "Western Design." King is also a columnist for www.winereviewonline.com, where her column, "In the Kitchen," appears bimonthly
Judith Kirkwood has two entries (on Buenos Aires and St. Lucia) in the new National Geographic Journeys of a Lifetime
Susan Weiner, CFA, will present on "How to Write Investment Commentary Your Clients Will Read" to societies of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute in Victoria, B.C., Naples, FL and Edmonton, AB.
Leila Merrell Foster's second historical novel, Life Among the Pagans (Capstone Fiction), has been released
Kathy Seal's Pressured Parents, Stressed-out Kids: Dealing With Competition While Raising a Successful Child, came out in January, and was co-authored with Wendy Grolnick Ph.D.
