Daylle Deanna Schwartz's eighth book, Straight Talk with Gay Guys (HCI), launched with a sponsored party and video—the first book on YouTube.com (according to their marketing manager), articles in the New York Post and Chicago Sun-Times, an appearance on Howard Stern, radio interviews and much more coming. With advice to women from 33 gay guys (including Michael Musto), the book is featured at Barnes & Noble
Dan Drollette won an environmental journalism fellowship to the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Kauai, Hawaii, where he will spend a week this May doing studies with experts in endangered tropical species. (75 percent of all the extinctions in North America occurred in Hawaii.)
Beth Levine's essay, "Who Is That Guy?" is included in a new essay collection, Blindsided by a Diaper, edited by Dana Hilmer (Three Rivers Press, June 2007). This collection of essays about how having children changes your relationship with your spouse is a family affair: Beth's husband, Bill Squier, also has an essay in the anthology, "The Torah for the Trees."

Barbara Bartocci has signed a three-book contract with Morehouse (an imprint of Church Publishing) to write follow-up books to her successful Grace on the Go: 101 Quick Ways to Pray. The follow-up books will be Grace on the Go for Caregivers, Grace on the Go for Dieters, Grace on the Go for Your Diaper Bag (Prayers for New Moms and Dads) É Julie Bawden Davis's fourth book, Indoor Gardening the Organic Way, was published by Taylor Trade in January. The definitive guide to growing houseplants organically offers indoor gardeners tips for making eco-friendly choices. As a companion to the book, she also launched healthyhouseplants.com
Following a concerted marketing push, Lynn Voedisch's novel, Excited Light (ASJA Press, 2006) reached number 515 in Amazon.com rankings on Jan. 4. The novel is about a young boy coping with a single, alcoholic mother, who talks to angels at night. They work a miracle when a stranger threatens his mother's life. More at www.lynnvoedisch.com
Erin Torneo's Picking Cotton, written with Jennifer Cannino and Ron Cotton, is the true story of an unlikely friendship forged between a woman and the man she incorrectly identified as her rapist and sent to prison for 11 years. It sold to St. Martin's Press for publication in 2008
Sharon Naylor is the host of the new Wedding Podcast Network (www.weddingpodcastnetwork.com) talk show "Here Come the Moms," an advice program springing from her two books The Mother of the Bride Book and Mother of the Groom. Her newest title Renewing Your Wedding Vows has been chosen as a segment for Naomi Judd's talk show "Naomi's New Morning" on the Hallmark Channel
ForeWord has selected Kim Kavin's Have the Whole Boat: The Insider's Guide to Private Yacht Charter Vacations as a finalist for Best Travel Guidebook 2006. Winners of the independent press competition will be announced in June
Julia Flynn Siler's The House of Mondavi: The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty, will be published by Penguin's Gotham Books in June 2007
Marian Sandmaier's essay, "Time Traveler," will be published by Hyperion Books in May in The Empty Nest: 31 Parents Tell the Truth about Relationships, Love and Freedom After the Kids Fly the Coop. Sandmaier's essay, which explores the experience of feeling simultaneously sexier and more geezer-like following her child's departure for college, also will be excerpted in the May issue of More magazine
Vanessa Barrington has signed a contract with Chronicle Books for Heirloom Beans: Recipes from Rancho Gordo. The book features 85 recipes and color photos, and will be released in Fall 2008. Vanessa is co-writing with heirloom bean expert and farmer, Steve Sando. This is the first book for both.
